The royal family's 2023 in photos: Princess Catherine joins world-conquering English wheelchair footy champs

2023 marks the first year for the royals after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

From Harry's tell-all memoir to King Charles III beginning his reign, here's a collection of photos from the lives of the UK royals.

Catherine also took part in ball skills and drills with PDRL (Physical Disability Rugby League) and LDRL (Learning Disability Rugby League) players, alongside students from Hull FC's Centre of Excellence, at Allam Sport Centre in Hull, England, Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023.

Queen Camilla fluffs a return as she plays table tennis next to King Charles during a visit to local youth sports associations in Saint-Denis near Paris.

France's "first lady" Brigitte Macron also attended the visit as well.

It was the second day of the UK royal couple's first state visit to France.

Macron took her turn at the other end of the table.

The King spoke of his late mother's close ties with the country and the "firm friendship" between the nations during his speech.

"Your generosity of spirit brings to mind how my family and I were so greatly moved by the tributes paid in France to my mother, the late Queen, whose funeral took place one year ago yesterday," he said.

A number of A-list stars also joined the party, including English singer Mick Jagger and his partner, US choreographer Melanie Hamrick.

British actor Hugh Grant also attended.

The visit had been initially scheduled for March but had to be postponed due to mass strikes and protests.

This is Charles's 35th official visit to France and Camilla's ninth. Their last visit to the country was in 2019 for the Bayeux Cathedral to mark the 75th anniversary of the Normandy Landings.

It was Meghan's first appearance at an Invictus Games sports match.

Harry is one of the founders of the Invictus Games, inspired by his military service. He organised the first Games in 2014, in London.

The changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace may draw tourists from far and wide, but on Sunday visitors to the landmark were treated to a different sort of spectacle: a parade of corgis dressed up in crowns, tiaras and royal outfits.

Around 20 royal fans and their pet corgis gathered to walk their dogs outside the palace in central London to remember Queen Elizabeth II a year since her death.
