Top 10 most popular postcodes for NSW first-home buyers

New property data has revelaed the top ten suburbs for first home buyers from July to September this year.

InfoTrack's Property Market has outlined the NSW postcodes with the highest volume of sales for first home buyers.

10. North Ryde

10. North Ryde

Suburbs with the postcode 2113, including North Ryde, had the 10th highest rate of first home-owners by in the last quarter.

The postcode is one of three new entrants from the list since the last quarter and was the only postcode outside of Greater Western Sydney to make the top 10.

9. Schofields

Schofields and Tallawong were the 9th most popular suburbs for first-home buyers.

InfoTrack's Head of Property Australia Lee Bailie said a younger cohort of buyers appeared to be taking advantage of the high value on offer in Greater Western Sydney.

Sydney Olympic Park, Newington and Wentworth Point in postcode 2127 have taken out number number eight in the rankings.

The postcode entered the top 10 for the first time this quarter.

Bankstown has had a fair few changes since this picture was taken in 2006, and it's proving popular for new buyers.

The 2200 postcode, which also includes Condell Park, in Sydney's west came in at number seven.

The postcode of 2145, another Western Sydney area, had the sixth-highest amount of first-home buyers.

No postcodes from any regional parts of the state made it into the top 10 most popular areas for first-home buyers.

5. Blacktown

The postcode of 2148, which includes Blacktown, came in at number five.

Fairwater is a new geo-thermal cooled mini-suburb in Blacktown, established to save electricity in the hot area.

4. Parramatta

Parramatta and surrounding suburbs in postcode 2150, which have been steadily growing with Parramatta designed to be a satellite city, came in at number four.

The fast-grown population will soon have its own airport at Badgery's Creek.

The postcode of 2765, including Marsden Park, finished third on the list.

The NSW government has listed Masden Park as a growth area in the north-west.

"The new community at Marsden Park will benefit from up to 10300 new homes and the delivery of local amenities close to transport options," the NSW Department of Planning said on its website.

Liverpool and suburbs in the postcode of 2170 had the second highest amount of first home buyers purchase homes in the last quarter.

The suburb and its surrounds have a high rate of migration.

1. Campbelltown

The top postcode for first-home buyers in the past three months is 2560.

"This postcode includes the hubs of Campbelltown, Leumeah, Macarthur Square and Appin, which are strong communities in themselves, and have the added advantage of being within commutable distance to the Sydney CBD," Bailie said.

"It's positive to see younger buyers entering the property market, with 69 per cent of those who purchased in the 2560 postcode last quarter aged under 39.

"A closer analysis shows more than a third were aged 30-39, followed closely by 20–29-year-olds who made up 32 per cent of the buying cohort."

Bailie said properties ranging from $700- $800,000 were the most popular.
